Great news Pattaya restaurants are going to get together and have a “Charity BBQ and Chili Cook-off.” I like Thai spicy food. It seems to bump up the taste of things. I get tired of plain old meat and potatoes or fruit and vegetables. I want a little spice in my life or at least on my tongue. So, the thought of a BBQ cook-off brings to my mind the memories of good times at tailgate parties before the big game. This is a unique event. The food is always unique and good. It’s the BBQ sauce that makes the difference. BBQ sauce is a blend of spices, juices and magic. Actually, I have absolutely no idea how they make BBQ sauce but I do know that it is truly a great and wonderful taste. My mouth is watering, just writing about it. So, if you have a favorite restaurant and think they might want to have some fun, promote their business and help the community charity fund then get involved with the Pattaya Charities BBQ and Chili cook-off. Event wise there isn’t much new happening in Pattaya. On July 22nd the banks and bars will be closed for a holiday. The weather is hot and humid but no major rain to write about. It’s been great weather at night. Walking Street, Soi Pattayafunland, Soi Post Office, Soi 7 and 8 and Soi 6 (Soi Yodsak) are all still busy in the late afternoon and in the evenings.
The rumor is that the city is going to encourage beer bars and go go clubs to move to more discreet locations by taxing them out of existence in the prime tourist areas. It looks like Soi Bau Khao will be the future center of the nightlife and maybe some of the side Sois. I think the city fathers simply want the nightlife to be more discrete and less noticeable when the tour buses and cars drive down the main streets of this fine little fishing village. I don’t know. It’s just what I’ve heard. I don’t know what the long term plans are for Pattaya. Who knows what this little fishing village will be like in 10 or 15 years from now? Can wait to see, it is sure to be amazing!
