but I’ll go back again!

Well my friends, that’s what I think now, I love the food that they serve at The ALIBABA RESTURANT. In my past I only had a small bowl of rice with curry sauce on it and I don’t remember much about it, other than it was different and didn’t taste anything like a cheeseburger.
I played it safe by first visiting the Ali Baba restaurant and just looking at the menu with intentions of coming back another night. Well guess what they have on the menu…. Bread. I find bread not on every menu in every restaurant, kiosk, food cart and bicycle vendor in Pattaya. Ha Ha Ha. I guess I am sort of a bread and butter kind of guy. Now, another small problem. I am “sort of” vegetarian. I eat no beef, very little chicken and some fish on small servings. I wanted to try everything on the menu to be fair. Guess what they have. They have a sample platter that serves 2 to 4 very hungry big people.
I started my trip to the restaurant with my girl friend and myself but my friend, his wife and child and his mother were all talked into going to this Indian restaurant. I really needed them to help sample the food. I was lucky because my friend has dined at 4 or 5 Indian restaurants in Bangkok and is an expert in fine dining. The party of five and a baby was a test for the restaurant.
Indian food is mildly spicy and was very, very delious. I eat way too much. Oh, yes, they had a cheese that was prepared with a coating of spice that was a culinary delight. The restaurant was busy which means they must be good. My friend asked that the food be not too spicy. This rice was a delight and the curry was really good. If you are in dought as to “how to eat” the food just ask.
They had the usual assorted drinks available including a wine list. The interior décor was an Indian fantasyland and it is air-conditioned. There are several rooms for more intimate dining. There is quiet Indian music wafting in the background. The staff is dressed in silk and cotton Indian jacket, uniform and dress.
We finished the 2-hour culinary experience with Indian ice cream and a traditional Indian desert, which reminded me of cake soaked in sweet syrup. Considering that I was not sure about Indian food when I started this culinary adventure, I am now anxious to go back and try Indian food again and again and again at The Alibaba Restaurant, Pattaya Central Road between Second and Beach Road.
