Being near to the action can have its benefits sometimes. Take for example “Nui’s Bar”. It’s a small bar. It can only hold about twenty to thirty people. It’s one of those single shops down a quite little street off of walking street. It’s located at 175/51 Soi 15. A person can find it from either walking street or Pratamnak road/ 2nd road. It isn’t that hard to find if you go down Soi 15 later in the evening because they are the only bar that is packed with people talking loud, laughing, smiling and generally having a real good time. The other bars in the neighborhood seem to be rather quit compared to “Nui’s Bar”. I wondered why. When I went there the first time, they were just opening up and it was eighty thirty at night. There were no patrons and just a few girls and a few bartenders. I was informed to come back after awhile. Well, I was busy so I didn’t get back for a few nights. WOW ! What a difference. It was like going to a party. The go go was going strong. The bar was crowded, but there was a barstool for me right in the middle of the action. I could sit at the bar and at the same time have a most excellent view of the go go girls who were right in front of me. Can you imagine one wall is a bar and the other wall is a go go stage. It was perfect. They even have a few booth type seating arrangements, in case you meet a lady and want to talk to her or buy her a drink for a more intimate conversation about world events or what ever. The music, the intimate atmosphere and the ladies seem to have an effect on the patrons in that the bell was ringing more then I have ever heard in other bars. If you are celebrating an event or just feeling generous, it isn’t that expensive to buy a round of drinks for everyone because there aren’t that many people that can fit into this bar and if you ring the bell your name will go up on the wall of honor with all the other patrons before you who have been so fun and generous. I first heard about “Nui’s Bar” on a web board and many guys from around the world all raved about this place. I should have come down here sooner. Oh, well, now we both know about this fun little intimate bar. But remember, they don’t open until eight thirty P.M. Also, remember Soi 15 that runs between walking street and Pratamnak/ 2nd road or see the map on the ad in this paper. I’ll probably meet you there.
